What we have achieved

The financial year 2019/20 saw us build 169 rainwater harvesting structures. Of these, 58 were roof rainwater harvesting structures and located in Charasada (south west of Jaipur) and in Kutch, Gujarat. The remaining 111 structures were ‘taankas’ – rainwater harvesting tanks in the Thar desert. These were in both Jaisalmer and in Barmer. Both are very remote places where rainfall is extremely limited.

Our Water and Livelihoods Programme worked with 160 farmers to install irrigation systems – either a drip irrigation system or a sprinkler system. In total, we had seven projects during the year and we worked in 137 villages during the year and helped 8,850 people. 2019- 2020 was WaterHarvest’s 33rd year in operation!

Please do get in touch if you have any questions or if there is anything you would like to see in next year’s Annual Review.
