COVID 19 Appeal
Help us support our partners and the vulnerable communities we work with
COVID 19 appeal
Our COVID 19 appeal is raising funds to pay for our community and field workers and also our Water for Work programme. These are very challenging times for everyone, not least small charities. To help us, please donate.
Standing by our partners
During these uncertain times, we are determined to continue to pay our field and community workers. We have worked with many of our partners for over thirty year and the community and field workers are integral to our ability to deliver on our programmes.
Water for work
As part of our COVID 19 appeal, we are supporting the communities we work with through a ‘Water for work’ programme. As a result of the lockdown, many migrants had to return , often by foot, to their villages. With no work, they are unable to feed themselves and their families. Under our Water for work scheme, we will employ people to carry out basic manual labour under our programmes. These include pond de-silting, well repairing and building chaukas.
Our work prevents distress migration
WaterHarvest’s work helps to prevent distress migration. Our irrigation programmes, water at home and land rejuvenation all stop communities being forced to move to the cities for low paid, often dangerous work. Watch our latest video.
